How to Mix and Apply ARDEX WA Epoxy Grout and Adhesive​

ARDEX WA Epoxy Grout is a two-part system, with Part A (resin) and Part B (hardener) pre-measured for easy mixing. You can use it for grouting or as a setting adhesive. Do the following to ensure proper curing and performance:

• Combine all of Part B into Part A, and mix thoroughly with a low-speed drill and an ARDEX T-2 Ring Mixing Paddle. 
• Scrape the sides of the container to make sure all material is incorporated. The working time is approximately one hour at 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celcius), so spread the product immediately after mixing to prevent premature setting.

Precautions When Working With ARDEX WA Epoxy Grout

To get the best results, only install ARDEX WA when both ambient and surface temperatures are between 50-85 degrees Fahrenheit (10-29 degrees Celcius). Avoid areas with high solvent fumes or torpedo heaters, as these can affect curing and color stability. Since some tile surfaces may be more prone to scratching or discoloration, always test a small area first before applying the full product.

Tips for Cleaning and Installing ARDEX WA Epoxy Grout and Adhesive

To achieve the best finish and prevent unwanted residue or haze, follow these steps: 

• Initial cleaning (15-20 minutes after application): Lightly mist the surface with water and use a white Scotch-Brite® pad to gently emulsify any excess epoxy. Doing so helps lift off surface residue without disturbing the grout.
• Residue removal: After emulsifying, use a damp ARDEX sponge to remove any remaining grout residue. Be gentle to avoid pulling grout out of the joints.
• Second cleaning (60-90 minutes after application): Once the grout has set, clean the surface with a high-alkaline cleaner (pH 12-14). This step will help minimize haze and ensure the surface is clear of any lingering epoxy.
• Final cleaning (next day): Perform a final cleanup to ensure the surface is completely free from haze or residue. This step will give the grout a crisp, polished finish.
• Water maintenance: Change your cleaning water regularly to avoid spreading any residue back onto the surface.

By following these steps, you will prevent haze and residue buildup, ensuring a clean, professional finish that enhances the overall look of your tile and grout.
